Thoughts of an Aging, Liberal, Agnostic Cardiologist

From the profane to the sacred, my thoughts wander every morning between five and seven a.m.--no holds barred. I decided to capture some of the ones I enjoyed the most. I think a person is not much more than his thoughts, thoughts that are molded and shaped by his life. Writing these pieces has given me a chance to get my thoughts more in order and to decide who I am and what I stand for. It's been sentimental, it's been emotional, and it's been funny. It's something like putting my cards on the table for all to see. This book is a stripped-down version of who I am. As for me, I think I like what I see. I think writing these pieces will make me live if not longer, then stronger. I've always felt I'd like to be a fly on the wall to see how people act when I'm not around. I've done the next best thing. I've spent fifty years as an internist and cardiologist, trying to get into peoples'minds, mostly to find out their problems.
