The 318 Son: Household of Abraham

As the family of God, the Church is a dynamic entity structured on the Fatherhood of God in heaven and on sonship on the earth—male and female sons who bear His image. The local church is the quarry that shapes the sons of God to fit into the Corporate Church, which is His dwelling place. The local church, in turn, mirrors the heavenly relationship of Father (God) and Son (Jesus) on the earth. The number “318” refers to a specific kind of son prefigured in the 318 “servants” of Abram who were born in his house. It also prefigures the Corporate Son, the Church. Abram used his 318 servants to defeat four kings and rescue his nephew Lot. In the Bible, “318” is prophetic of sons born and trained in one’s house, and are to be understood as adopted sons who have the power to deliver those “wrapped” (the meaning of Lot’s name) in the paralysis of a sectarian spirit, and to defeat the four “kings” of negativity, a devil-centered mindset, poverty, and desolation. Sons of the house—the “318s”—are no longer bound by these four enemies because they are overcomers, and the key to their victory is their obedience to their Father.
