What is Your Sister Code?

The Sister Code stimulates an ongoing conversation among women to improve their interpersonal relationships with each other. It urges women to build a strong foundation of love and support for each other. The Sister Code acknowledges that in order to bring about this change, women must work together as sisters and not foes. Oftentimes, some women express that their friendship with each other is often mangled with an underlying jealousy, rivalry, and self-centeredness, that selfishly disregards the plight of women in a male dominated society. The Sister Code calls for women to replace negativity with positivity and encourages women to build positive relationships that flourish with the use of healthy forms of communication, and a healthy sense of self. The Sister Code removes the veil that often hinders the collective consciousness that the true enemy and bane of a woman’s existence has been, and continues to be, gender inequality, gender bias, sexism, and racism.
