Classical Electrodynamics

CLASSICAL ELECTRODYNAMICS covers the development of Maxwell s theory of electromagnetism in a systematic manner and comprises the time-independent electric and magnetic fields, boundary value problems and Maxwell s equations. The generation and propagation of electromagnetic waves in unbounded and bounded media, special theory of relativity, charged particle dynamics, magneto-hydrodynamics and the formal structure of covariance as applied to Maxwell s theory are also included. In addition, the emission of radiation from accelerated charges and the resulting radiation reaction including Bremsstrahlung, Cérénkov radiation; scattering, absorption, causality and dispersion relations are covered adequately. The energy loss from charged particles, multipole radiation and Hamiltonian formulation of Maxwell s equations, constitute the finalé of the book.
