Bringing Policies to Life: The Role of Frontline Managers in People Management

Drawing on data generated and reported in the CIPD research report, Understanding the People and Performance Link - Unlocking the Black Box, this text further examines the area of front-line leadership. Research undertaken identified that there is a clear relationship between front-line people management and business performance. The research also discovered that front-line leaders were often crucial in making the difference between low-performing and high-performing organisations. Front-line managers that occupy a key position within organisations are responsibe for providing a clear link between business strategy and goals, as well as the role of the individual. If this is done well, then it can lead to focused employees and in turn, very successful organisations.
