Apex Maths Word Problems CD-ROM 4

This CD-ROM provides a database of mathematical word problems appropriate for ages 8-9. The problems can be selected according to level of complexity, mathematical operation and topic, allowing teachers to create a photocopiable word problems sheet tailored to the needs of individual pupils, or to generate sheets quickly for early finishers or homework. Apex Maths Word Problems can be used to teach or consolidate problem solving skills, for additional practice, or as an end of topic test. Answers are incorporated for the teacher, together with useful advice on teaching and learning problem solving strategies. Tools for presenting the word problems via an interactive whiteboard are included in the software. The CD-ROMs complement the Apex Maths book series. The books focus mainly on number puzzles and mathematical investigations, whilst the CD-ROMs provide practice in choosing efficient operations and strategies for solving word problems.
