Deputy Marshal Jed Law rode into Buffalo Creek with only the minimum of orders. Rustler trouble had flared up between two ranchers and a man had been killed. It was a simple chore and Law did not expect too much trouble. But from the start - when he first set eyes on Julie Rutherford and her father Ben - it all went wrong. Knee-deep in hard cases determined to wipe him out, Law had to shoot his way through the opposition before he could even get to work on his case.
