Random Walk

Random Walk is a keenly-felt tale of the struggle to find courage in the face of despair. Weaving threads of urban dystopia and popular sub-culture into a haunting rural landscape of a once-and-future Wales, echoes of the present reverberate throughout the novel. Set in 2035, a coastal city lies isolated from the outside world. Its hungry inhabitants scrape a living in a high-tech, low resource remnant of their former society. Oswald White, oversees them all, controlling the behaviour of a critical mass with a sociological software model written decades before. Among the characters struggling against the pressure of constant surveillance and compulsory personal 3D broadcasts are Remi, a free-running rebel and eight-year-old Osian and his grandfather, Glyn. When naive outsider, Lisa, arrives they are each compelled to make their choice between the real and the Virtual worlds.
