'Clinical Effectiveness'; 'Clinical Governance'; 'Clinical Audit'; 'Clinical Guidelines': these are all vitally important to the UK government's quality agenda for the NHS; all are apparently about clinical practice and yet all lead to a fair amount of confusion for the average practitioner. Despite the often confusing wealth of literature on the subject, little, if any, refers specifically to psychological treatment services.
