Delivering Essential Medicines

Following the publication of "The Economics of Essential Medicines", this new volume extends the debate by outlining the challenges in delivering essential medicines to developing countries. The issue is complicated by the affordability of medicines as well as physical barriers in economic policy and medical infrastructure. This book examines the extent to which the pharmaceutical industry can play a role in improving health service delivery and access to medicines in developing countries. It also discusses the impact of private-public partnerships and outlines specific efforts to bring medicines to developing countries.
