Will to Survive, The

This is an extraordinary personal account of three and a half years in captivity as a Japanese prisoner-of-war, including a period of working on the Burma-Siam railway. Arthur Godman, a scientist with over 40 books on the subject to his credit, used his trained analytical mind to observe and record daily life in the prison camp including the previously unreported side of captivity—the humor and small kindnesses between guards and prisoners, both living in testing conditions.
