Caring for Older People: A Resource Book for Australian Carers

Currently there are several hundred thousand Australians who are caring full time for an older person. Mostly these are spouses or children, and the majority are women. Many are unaware of the support services available, and continue working under highly stressful conditions which can ultimately place their own health and wellbeing in jeopardy. "Caring for Older People" is a resource book offering practical information on major issues involved in caring for the elderly, such as health, accommodation, financial and legal matters, home safety and security. The needs of carers in maintaining their own quality of life are also discussed, and support services listed.
