📖 Description
Edith Södergran's poetry, characterized by its intense visionary quality, has been translated into many languages. These letters were mostly written in the final years of her life (she died at 31), many when she was dying of tuberculosis in a remote Finnish village. They are unusually spontaneous and show her in many moods; passionate and caring, gentle and playful, angry and intransigent, desperate for human contact, and racked by religious doubts that threatened to stifle the very poetry for which she lived.
