Scholarship on Fire: Personal Account of Fifty Years of the Nazarene College in Britain

Nazarene Theological College, which today is an affiliate college of the University of Manchester with undergraduate and post-graduate students, began in 1944 with few resources, few students and little academic standing. It arose out of conviction that there was no conflict between academic excellence and christian holiness and that thorough spiritual and intellectual preparation was necessary to serve in the christian ministry in the 20th century. Its motto has always been " Scholarship on Fire." This book, a personal account, tells the very human story of men and women who sacrificed and served to make the founder's vision a reality
