📖 Description
In historic times the Aleuts lived on the Aleutian Islands and Alaska Peninsula. They lived as far west as Attu Island. On the east they began at a point near the present settlement of Port Moller on the Alaskan Peninsula. East of that point Eskimos lived. Being the most westerly Alaskan natives, the Aleuts were the first Alaskans to have contact with the Russian fur traders in the 1700s.
