First published in 1970, the "Historic Michigan Travel Guide" is the state's only publication that promotes travel to Michigan's history museums, historic sites, and related destinations. The "Historic Michigan Travel Guide" is published by the Historical Society of Michigan, which was founded in 1828 by Territorial Governor Lewis Cass and explorer Henry Schoolcraft. The publication is sponsored by the Rollin M. Gerstacker Foundation, Meijer, and Consumers Energy.
