Life-Cycle Impact Assessment: Striving towards Best Practice

This book reviews and advances impact assessment methods and also strives for consensus or compromise among method developers. It also summarizes the efforts of the SETAC Europe 2nd Working Group on LCIA and draws on the standards for LCA, the International Organization for Standardization 14040 series. This book also focuses on further development of the technical framework, an overview of the existing data and methods for different impact categories, and evaluation criteria for methods, including scientific validity, transparency, environmental relevance, feasibility, and links with other phases of LCA and LCI methods and data.
