Immortality ((Here and Hereafter))

"In Romans 6:23 we are taught that the gift of God is eternal life, but the wages of sin is death. In contrast to the wages of sin, God is offering this transcendently precious life as a gift. It is not bestowed to prolong spiritual existence. No Scripture teaches that eternal life is given to produce longevity or elongation of the life of the soul. We have already seen that man is to fill out eternity. Eternal life is the gift of God to men that they may ever be blessed with the life of God. Duration is not the only and perhaps not the primary feature of everlasting life that shold entrace us; not the duration of the life, but rather the nature of the life is of primal importance.
