This book is the author's personal impression of the psychology of Iranians, and some interesting information about Iran and Iranian people is provided.
Part 1 focuses on Iranian immigrants, discussing the status of Iranian immigrants in their host countries. A clear picture of a typical Iranian immigrant is given, and issues and problems common to them are explored.
Part 2 deals with Iranian immigrants and describes their behavioural patterns at home, at work, and in relationships. Included are tips about how best to motivate them to work more productively, and how Iranian men and women exercise their rights, either directly or indirectly. This chapter also describes the food and eating habits of Iranians.
In Part 3, a brief general introduction to present day Iran is provided; the general customary patterns of life in large and small cities, villages, and tribes in past, present.
This chapter also gives a sketch of Persian mythology and religious beliefs of early Aryan inhabitants of the Iranian plateau.
Part 4 offers clues for successfully communication barriers, such as existing stereotyped ideas among Iranians, and a list of suggested questions to ask or not ask when first meeting an Iranian. Three appendices complete the text: a list of especial Iranian days and common expressions, pronunciation of some conversational Persian phrases, and a list of beautiful Persian names.
Dr. Shahnaz Moslehi, was born and raised in Iran. She holds a Ph.D. in education from the University of Southern California and has studied political education at London University. She is an idealist and analytical thinker who values humanity.
