The Story of Blue Eye, Book One in the Sun On The Mountains trilogy, was a fast-paced and historically accurate story of the Plains Indian horse culture that spanned the 49th parallel and became the centre of all economic trade in the late 1800s. Book Two of the trilogy, Alexander’s Way, takes readers back to the beginning, to Philadelphia, where Alexander James, a successful Quaker banker and pacifist, loses everything in Civil War America. Condemned as a traitor, supporter of the king, and military coward, James is exiled to Canada by George Washington. Here he begins the first seeds of an empire: seeds sown in the Canadian fur trading era and realized generations later. Alexander’s Way is a story of power and economics. It is a story of how strength and weakness feed off desire and need, and how supply and demand dissect commerce. But most importantly, it is Alexander James’ story of how love can transcend culture.
