For forty years Walter was a contributor to the anarchist press, principally Freedom and its companion periodicals Anarchy and The Raven. He was active in many groups including the Spies for Peace and the Rationalist Press Association, editing The New Humanist. This volume selects from his extensive writings on anarchist history and theory. This book presents a history of anarchism, reaching from its prehistory in the American Revolution to the work of Murray Bookchin and Colin Ward.
