Description
This is an epic tale of corruption, intrigue, adventure and romance taking place during the years 1796 and 1797. The novel concerns the lives of six convicts (all female) who are being transported to Australia for a variety of crimes. One of those is Ann Lingos an illegitimate daughter of King George III. Her only crime had been to try and obtain some financial help from the Royal Court following the death of her mother. Unknown to the king unscrupulous members of his staff chose instead to virtually get rid of the poor girl by arranging her transportation to the penal colony for life. So she doesn t travel alone it was arranged through representatives of the king and a judge that he sentences five others to various terms at Botany Bay despite the fact their crimes could have been considered justifiable and would normally have received a minimum prison term or even a fine. However such was the influential power of the monarchs aides they are faced with a life of penal servitude. The convicts squalid life at sea is graphically described along with the putrid food they are forced to eat or starve to death. With the authors imaginative narrative and graphic detail the story will grip the reader from start to finish.
