Description

It's a fun book. It's informative. It Could Help You Stop Smoking. So, do you wanna give up smoking, or not? Cos there's no room here for half-hearted wimps. If you don't really wanna do it, put the effing book back and stop wasting my time and your money. This is it! Forget the patches and the gum, and use supermarket shelf products to replace the sensation smoking brings to your body's most sensitive receptor; your tongue. This is the answer. Now is the time to give up for good, in one of the most pleasant ways possible. Your favourite rock songs; and maybe even some air-guitar playing to get those demons out of your system will also help you through when times get tough. So, what are you waiting for? The author, Alan Burridge smoked his first untipped Woodbine cigarette, lit from a burning car tyre in a neighbourhood friend's back garden, when he was 12. Once bitten, forever smitten, as they say, and from the age of 16 he averaged 15 to 20 a day for 38 years. Giving it up for open heart surgery to replace a hereditary faulty heart valve was not easy, and he still uses the methods described in this book today to keep him on track. Going to gigs played a large part in his life, and still does; and Cream, The Who, and Jimi Hendrix, were big influences on his early life. Since 1980 he has been the fan club boss for Motorheadbangers; Motorhead's official worldwide fan club, so he knows what being a rocker is all about.
