Blaisini: Danta Agus Tuairisci Taistil - English and Irish

Blaisini is a loving, well-observed collection of poetry in Irish and in English. The themes include Nuala's own family, her parents, Una and Clement, and other interesting people. It could be Jaime in Bogota, Nerja Caves, Greenland, Christmas in Clare, a Dublin wino, nature, birds, animals, waterfalls - a vast canvas of reflection and recollection. There are elements of parting and sadness and a few funny, light touches. I particularly loved the blackcurrant eyes and no-colour teardrop of the African child in the poem Eye Contact, and My Wish, Caimeo dem Athair, Ar Scath a Cheile and Fionoir Fanach. I could go on forever. This book is a wonderful memoir - a mind, a heart, a soul revealed.
