The Praetorian

The island kingdom of Desperian has long been ruled under the iron heel of a dark wizard and his ruling class of loyalists. The nobles of the land have long held to an imperative law: blood in the arena keeps blood out of the streets. Cadres of celebrated gladiators entertain the masses in hallowed stadiums - temples of slaughter where sacrifices appease the populace. And through this control, the wizard Zoranthar continues his timeless dominance of the island. But now, slavers have delivered a stranger in chains to the shores of the desert wasteland. A broken, wounded, lost woman. Valoriss Bladesong does not appear to be a warrior of destiny, but her path will bring her to the doorstep of Emperor Zoranthar and a challenge for the destiny of Desperian!
