The Ramayana

The Ramayana is a classic myth which originated in India and was disseminated through out Southeast Asia. It began as an oral epic and has subsequently been written as poetry, branch stories, dramas puppet theatre and dance dramas. The story is still told in India, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Java, Bali and other Southeast Asia cultures and countries. This version is retold with the young adult reader in mind so that it may bring an Asian perspective to the study of world mlythology.
