This is an amusing and at times serious novel about a young woman in the advertising world in New York City. She knows all the terminology of the New York scene. Her problem is that she is overweight and has to go on diets periodically. Her personal and professional life is influenced by her weight and appearance. She wins and loses professional positions and boyfriends. Her experiences are shared by many young women. The narrator here is witty, emotional, intelligent and cool.
