Stories of Family Caregiving: Reconsiderations of Theory, Literature, and Life

This new interdisciplinary book explores the experiences of men and women who provide long-term, life-sustaining care to family members. It employs a narrative approach based on stories from fiction, autobiography, and interviews with family caregivers that look at their experiences in all their contradictions, hopes, and fears. The authors examine the narratives of family caregiving, the theories of care in feminism and nursing, and the foundations on which these theories rest, challenging health professionals to think contextually about both theories and stories.
