A narration of the progression of specific events, this book details the influences that made some issues important, while others were not; describes who did what to whom and when; and, demonstrates how Hispanics generally responded in the presidential elections (from 1972 to the present).Chapter I focuses on the outcome of the just-ended presidential campaign and the role of the various Hispanic communities (Puerto Rican, Cuban, Latin American) in that election. It centres on what happened in the Clinton White House, the movements by various candidates and supporters to garner Hispanic votes in the campaign, and how that community actually voted. Subsequent chapters focus on the progression of influence by Hispanics and the efforts by various candidates for local and national office to manipulate and appeal to the Hispanic community from the 1972 Nixon re-election campaign right up to the present.
