The Shepherd Boy

Fiction. THE SHEPHERD BOY is a novel by Darick Allan. Beneath the intoxicating skies of a plateau at 9000 feet, an incident occurs between children from different worlds. Tommy Montovan, an American boy inspired by Sunday school stories depicting the dignity of animals, punishes an Indian shepherd boy for hobbling his sheep. The consequences cast a scar over both their lives as they struggle with shame, anger, and the reality of their places on earth. Darick Allan was born in Brazil and grew up in Latin America and Africa. He currently lives in Washington D.C.
