Description
A Full and Impartial Account of the Company of Mississipi, Otherwise call’d the French East-India-Company, Projected and settled by Mr. Law (1720) was first published anonymously in London during the height of John Law’s Mississippi Scheme. The first ever stock market boom created by John Law’s Mississippi Scheme induced significant political and financial resentment throughout Europe. Detractors sought to damage the Mississippi Company by commissioning propagandist pamphlets which undermined the reputation of the company, and created instability among its existing and potential investors. In an attempt to counter such damage, and to both restore the reputation of the Mississippi Scheme and dismiss the predictions of its impending demise, the Mississippi Company released A Full and Impartial Account of the Company of Mississipi.
