No Dead Fish for Ginger!

Meet Ginger, a young Sarasota Bay dolphin, who stranded on a beac h on Siesta Key in December 2008. Was she sick? Was she injured? Or was she just catching fish and got confused by the extremely low tide that day? Whatever the reason, by the time the animal ambulance arrived, the veterinary staff had determined that Ginger needed to go to the Dolphin and Whale Hospital at Mote Marine Laboratory. At the hospital, Ginger gets blood tests, a hearing test, and swabs of her blowhole. What makes Ginger unique as a patient is her refusal to eat dead fish. She is a picky eater and drives the staff crazy with her food preferences.
