Description
Life is full of surprises; some are good and you are excited to embrace them, while others are not so inviting. I recently learned that my life was not just full of surprises; I was actually experiencing wrestling matches in my consciousness. All of my life experiences, unknown to me at the time, were wrestling matches with “little gods†that I created when I took my focus off of “Almighty Godâ€. Throughout this book please take note that when not referring to Almighty God, the word “god†is not capitalized. We choose not to acknowledge them, even to the point of violating grammatical rules. The little gods I created were the gods of uncertainty, insecurity, pain, pride, lust, greed, status, doubt, fear, sickness, misunderstanding and worry. These wrestling matches affected my success in every area of life. This book will illustrate my journey as a husband, father, pastor, community leader and entrepreneur. Eventually, I learned how to overcome the little gods that I continuously put higher than Almighty God. I will share the encounter with God that I experienced after I broke my left femur and the revelations I received through the Word of God that brought healing to my mind, body and spirit. Written for leaders in business and ministry as well as those who are trying to achieve their goals and dreams while staying focused on God, this book will empower you to discover the greatness that lies within you! This is the great confidence that believers have in God: If the Lord is my shepherd, my feeder, I may conclude that I shall not want for anything that is really necessary and good for me. I shall be supplied with whatever I need. However, if I do not have everything I desire, I conclude 8 either that it is not fit or good for me, or that I shall have it in due time. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (Psalms 23: 1-6) I have encountered many experiences in my life that allowed me to understand that the Lord is my shepherd, as well as helped me to identify who God is to me.
