Add that to Sadie’s poorly hidden scorn when they’d met at the dance barn, her trickery in the cave, and her wild thrust of his own knife into his chest. “Them two is as good as dead.” The picture in his mind was simple—he’d climb the stairs to their apartment and ring the bell. When Sadie answered, he’d blast a hole in her face. Right after that Robert would get the same. She had to die first. As he obsessed over the scene he added details involving knife cuts, humiliation, and intense pain.
