Breakfast Is Served

As it was elsewhere in the recently defeated Confederacy, Reconstruction was only a polite term for looting at leisure, the law of the land having now become a law unto itself. Late in the summer of 1865, Unionist Texan Leiutenant Eustace Billings rides into Three Corners, Texas, leading thirty Federal troops loyal only to him. But rather than help a battered nation heal its wounds, Billings instead seeks to keep the old ones open and line his own pockets as well. After disarming the peaceful citizens of the small town and declaring Martial Law, Billings can now reign over Elias Trace and the others as he sees fit: in a tyrant's Heaven on Earth of authority without accountability.
