📖 Description
While the Baldwin Locomotive Works was best known for the “Mikado†and “Consolidation†types, it also built a variety of smaller steam engines for industrial use. The 26 locomotives featured in this 1914 catalog were purpose- built for a variety of environments including working in a steel or ironworks, at a mine or gravel pit, or servicing a wharf or freight yard. Each has unique features ranging from an oil-burning boiler (to eliminate smoke and fire risk) to engines that could be easily operated in either direction.
