Written under one of the many pen-names of talented American author Frederick Schiller Faust, The Seventh Man by Max Brand is a compelling and action packed Western that is nevertheless unique to its genre. At so many points during this captivating tale we find ourselves rooting for the villainous and heroic alike as Brand leads the reader on a rollercoaster of a journey. A truly stunning work with much focus on the relationship between man and beast, this tale of vengeance had us gasping for air, vice-like grip on the book (or, in this case, e-book reader) unyielding and woe betide the bringer of any interruption such as the hollow distractions of food or sleep. We really, really liked The Seventh Man.
