📖 Description
This handy book aims to develop the viewer's ability to interpret ultrasound scans, helping him to recognize the different organs and elementary signs and to know the correct orientation of the ultrasound beam and the steps to the final diagnosis. It is written for students and medical practitioners who have an elementary understanding of ultrasound. The presentation is the same as in the other volumes in the series: following the images are the diagnoses, comments, and schematic drawings that are particularly instructive. After a brief review of the normal anatomy of the liver as shown by ultrasound, the exercises are grouped by organ: liver and biliary tract, kidneys and adrenal glands, pancreas, spleen, and other. All the examples chosen show common clinical pathologies. In each group, the exercises gradually become more difficult, and in each case two to four slices are shown, sometimes with the corresponding CT scans. There then follows a detailed description of the slices, with the appropriate diagnosis and some comments on the pathology, diagnostic problems and pitfalls.
