Common Dental Diseases like dental caries and periodontal diseases are highest in India and other developing countries as compared to other diseases. Periodontal diseases and dental caries are greatly responsible for the high mortality rate of teeth in adults and children, respectively. Their treatment is very costly and there is a chance of recurrence and advancement of diseases when post treatment maintenance and preventive measures are not taken. With advancement and progress in medical care, more aged people are around than what have been seen a few decades ago. This further stresses the importance of preventive dentistry and maintenance measures.
