Description
Access Control in ad hoc networks is a hot topic of research today. There are many simulation studies done in this area. Since mobile nodes are battery operated they tend to save their energy by switching off their transcievers. These nodes are called as power saving nodes and this is allowed in a infrastructure based network. But in a Mobile ad hoc network, each node has to cooperate for the communication to become a success and to increase the throughput in the network. Some nodes in the ad hoc network behaves selfish and they send and recive their own data. They dont cooperate to send others' data. This makes great reduction in network throughput. Access contol deals with limiting the access of selfish nodes in the network and provide access to only those who cooperate in the network by forwarding others data. This book gives some methods for access control in ad hoc networks.
