Jean Sasson, A New orientalist

Orientalism is a term used by art historians, literary and cultural study scholars for the imitation or depiction of aspects of Middle Eastern and East Asian cultures by American and European writers, designers and artists. This book presents Jean Sasson as a new Orientalist, as she has raised the feministic view of the women of this region. Secondly the book focuses on Jean Sasson’s details of the Royal lifestyle of Saudi Arabia; the strength and weaknesses of the common Arabic people in her works without any hegemonic viewpoint which was seen lurking in the European and British authors. Thirdly there is description of Jean Sasson’s sensational element in her delineation of the characters and allied situations in her works. The sensational element adds to the American consumer culture, a part of new Orientalism. This book presents a special study of a geographical region that is the centre of religious and political turmoil and it needs to be understood in a balanced perspective. By and large, this book moves into theory completely and with a new orientation that throws new light on the basic theory.
