Critical Heat Flux Enhancement using NanoFluids: Conversion of Nuclear to Electrical Energy

Energy is the most important requirement in today’s world. Mankind has always tried to harness this energy from resources that are available. From obtaining heat energy from a bonfire to heat energy from a Nuclear reactor, the journey has been long and the research and development field has expanded with it. This book titled as ‘Critical Heat Flux Enhancement using Nanofluids’, focuses on the Critical heat flux (CHF) as the important constraint parameter for the nuclear power plant designs. The CHF is the thermal design limit for the nuclear reactor boilers. Critical heat flux being a phenomenon that occurs not only in pool boiling but also in forced convective boiling, becomes a vital parameter to be focused on. The effect of the CHF on the heater being complete destruction of the heater, makes it an important constraint. The occurrence of CHF is inevitable but enhancement of the CHF can be attempted with proper methods incorporated.This book discusses the CHF enhancement specially using nanofluids. The book, in its chapters, gives an idea about what Critical Heat Flux is and elaborates the pool boiling process &elaborates the design analysis involved in the heater and condenser.
