Now a day 70% mechanical parts are produced by using casting process. Green sand casting used for both ferrous and non-ferrous casting applications is increasingly used in the foundries today as an economically viable casting process. However the process is marred by large grain size structure and long solidification time. The coarser microstructure has a negative effect on the mechanical properties of the cast components and the long processing time affects the overall productivity of the process. So, during this green sand casting process various defects are arising like blow holes, metal penetration, rat tails, mould shift etc. Most of the casting processes are being done manually. So it takes time and harmful to workers.
