Museumsdepots: Inside the Museum Storage

Stefan Oláh presents over 100 large-scale photographs of usually inaccessible objects, bridging a gap between what is hidden from and what is open to public view. This pictorial documentation shows the efforts made to preserve cultural assets in the depot – an often underestimated achievement of museums and collection curators. Brief essays by selected authors present museum depots as vibrant, fascinating places where objects are found in surprising juxtaposition, and unexpected discoveries are made.
