Application of ICT to Information Resources Sharing: Among University Libraries in the North Central Nigeria

Application of ICT in various aspects of library services has really positioned libraries to discharge their core mandate effectively and efficiently.The availability of internet, web, email,and networking and telecommunication technology has addressed the problems of distance and speed that usually impede the flow of information resources in traditional library cooperation.This work,therefore,seek to investigate the extent of ICT to information resources sharing in University Libraries in the North Central Zone, Nigeria.The study established that university libraries in north central zone of Nigeria held ICT in their respective libraries and applied it to information sharing activities.The study identified some of the problems confronting the university libraries in their attempt to apply ICT to information resources sharing activities.The study should serve as working document to library administrators,librarians and users, because the target of any library administrator is to make information resources available at the lowest cost possible to the users.
