Synthesis of Protected Oligosaccharidic Repeating Units of Lipopolysaccharides Derived from Providencia alcalifaciens O60 and Providencia rustigianii O34

The presented work is focused on the synthesis of two oligosaccharidic repeating units derived from P. alcalifaciens O60 and P. rustigianii O34. The genus Providencia of Enterobacteriaceae family is among the opportunistic pathogens found in humans. It causes diseases such as traveler's diarrhea, food-borne gastroenteritis, urinary tract infections and wound infections. The linear protected pentasaccharidic repeating unit of P. alcalifaciens O60 and the branched heptasaccharidic repeating unit of P. rustigianii O34 were synthesized in highly convergent manners.
