Knowledge Discovery In The Government Decision Making Process: A study of Swedish government agencies and public owned companies

The hurricane of information that could face the decision maker in any situation could have a devastating effect on the outcome. Our life is more and more dependent on how we gather data, analyze and understand it. The use of technology to expand our cognitive limits is crucial for fast analysis and knowledge extraction from row data. Sweden is recognized as being amongst the top three countries in the world for ICT adoption. Four well known Swedish organizations have been investigated and furthermore, prolonged interviews have been conducted with key decision maker in the investigated agencies together with senior technicals in the area of knowledge discovery and data mining. This book investigates the explosion of data in Swedish governmental agencies and public owned companies for their extensive technology usage.
