Faculty Management Practices in Universities: Faculty Management in Public Sector Universities of the Punjab, Pakistan

The main focus of this work was on analyzing current faculty management practices e.g. acquiring, rewarding, developing, maintaining and protecting human resources and suggest appropriate changes in the same to better align them to the attainment of the goals of university education in Pakistan.It was found that universities were in a phase of expansion and were facing consequent HRM problems. Both old and new universities were facing difficulties in hiring and retaining faculty because of better pay packages offered by the private sector universities.Overall, new universities’ practices were relatively better on most of the faculty management practices.
