Luristan Bronze Disc-Headed Pins: A Symbol of Ancient Iran's Art

For a long time, Iran was an important center of metalworking in the ancient world. Luristan bronze ware covers a wide range of categories: functional and religious, ceremonial and ritual objects, personal decorations, ornaments, and various vessels. Prominent among Luristan bronze artifacts are a wide range of pins. This book documents all the pins in the Iranian collection, providing readers with large-scale reproductions and detailed drawings that explain their specific structure and use. Souri Ayazi is the Director of the Historic Department, and also responsible for the Luristan related division of the National Museum of Teheran. She specializes in historic Luristan artifacts and has organized several exhibitions on the subject worldwide.
