Yuriko Koike: After graduating from Cairo University, she became a journalist. In 1992, she was elected to the House of Councilors, and in 1993 was elected in the House of Representatives. In 2003, she was named Minister of the Environment (Second Koizumi Cabinet). In 2006, she was appointed Special Advisor to the Prime Minister for National Security Affairs.
